One moment please, we are searching for the best offers for your perfect motorhome holiday.
Celtic Campervans has been in the motorhome hire business since 1981 and offers you a high level of service from their Dublin depot. Whether you have visited Ireland before or are coming for the first time, the staff can make many recommendations to ensure that you have an unforgettable experience on the Green Isle.
Choose from five motorhome models, which are suitable for four to six people. All vehicles are very comfortable and no older than seven years at time of hire.
- Vehicle rental with unlimited kilometres
- Standard vehicle equipment
- Vehicle insurance with € 2,000 excess per incident
- Third party insurance with unlimited cover for bodily damage, max € 2 million cover for property damage
- Road Tax
- Child/booster seat (if requested in advance)
- 24-hour emergency hotline
- Post-hire cleaning *
* The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean state. The rental company reserves the right to charge a fee of up to € 200 if the interior of any returned vehicle is excessively dirty. Toilets and waste water tanks must be completely emptied and the fuel tanks must be full or further fees will be charged. The LP Gas bottle does not have to be returned full.
When calculating the total price all rental days are added up according to the number of days that fall within each 'season'. The pick-up and drop-off days are counted as one day in total (as long as the sum of these two days does not exceed 24 hours), i.e. the rates are counted on a nightly basis in the same way that hotels do this.
The cancellation fees apply as stated in Motorhome Bookers' booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.
- Diesel, propane gas (except for first fill), daily vehicle operating costs
- Additional driver fee
- Additional insurance options
- UK insurance (for travel outside of the island of Ireland)
- Personal equipment
The 'extras' listed below should be booked in advance with the vehicle wherever possible. Payment for these items is made locally when you pick up the vehicle.
- Bedding and Towel Pack: pillow, cotton lined sleeping bag, bath towel, hand towel (per person)*
- Child/Booster seats
*Please note that Celtic Campervans does not provide bed linen or blankets
Child seats are compulsory in Ireland for any children under 12 years of age and up to a maximum height of 135 cm and should ideally be requested in advance with the vehicle.
For further important details please refer to the section 'Equipment & Extras'.
Above items can also be rented at pick-up time. However, you then run the risk that the item you want is not available. All items remain the property of Celtic Campervans and must be returned with the vehicle when you drop it off.
All rental rates include comprehensive vehicle insurance with cover up to a maximum of € 2 million for damage to both the rental vehicle and third party vehicles. The excess that applies to any vehicle damage caused by the renter is limited to € 2,000. Celtic Campervans must be advised immediately of all damage when it occurs.
For any damage resulting from hail, break-ins, accidents with animals, windscreen damage, etc (i.e. 'external influence' or 'freak' damage excluding damage caused by other people to the rental vehicle) the excess of € 2,000 applies.
- Collision Damage Waiver Insurance (CDW)
You have the option of purchasing supplementary CDW insurance at pick-up time in order to reduce the level of the excess. This CDW insurance costs € 17 per day and reduces the excess to € 500.
The general regulations governing insurance in Ireland apply as the foundation for this insurance policy. The excess applies to each incident and will be charged separately if more than one incident occurs.
If an accident occurs with another vehicle or the driver of another vehicle flees the scene, the renter is liable up to the limit of the excess. The excess is deducted in the first instance - regardless of who is at fault.
The excess is deducted separately for each individual incident within the upper limit.
It is reimbursed as soon as the rental company receives any damage payments from a third party, which can take some time.
A deposit of € 2,000 is required to provide cover for the damage excess when you pick up the vehicle. This can only be done with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). You will not be able to pick up your motorhome unless you present a valid credit card. The security deposit can be reduced to € 500 if the supplementary CDW insurance is purchased at pick-up time.
The deposit is deducted from the credit card at pick-up and if the vehicle is returned in good condition it will be credited back. All credit card deductions are processed in Euros. Neither Celtic Campervans nor Motorhome Bookers are liable to pay any cost differences that occur between the cost of the deducted bond and the reimbursement which result from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees.
Please ensure you have adequate credit available on your credit card.
The deposit is reimbursed in entirety by Celtic Campervans as long as the motorhome is returned with full fuel tanks, clean and undamaged. The rental company reserves the right to charge fees for any damage, necessary cleaning fees, late drop-off and fines incurred during the rental period, etc. These fees are deducted from the credit card in arrears.
Insurance cover is null and void if the terms of the Celtic Campervans rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused when the renter acts outside of the rental company conditions is not covered by the insurance.
Any water and/or saltwater related damages where the renter is at fault are not covered by the insurance. The insurance does not cover damage in the case of any vehicle submersion, the vehicle being stranded in a water area, driving through causeways or beach driving.
Any personal property that is damaged or stolen during an accident, vandalism or a theft is not insured. Private insurance should be purchased in your home country to cover any such issues. In order to avoid theft of personal items from the vehicle it is advised not to leave any valuable items in the vehicle.
The insurance does not cover damage in the following cases:
- activities that are in breach of the rental agreement conditions, e.g. driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dangerous driving
- damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or when water or oil, etc are not topped up to minimum required levels (causing overheating, frost damage, etc) or where warning signals in the vehicle are ignored
- costs that arise for towing and recovery of vehicles that have been stranded or submerged as a result of the driver's negligence.
- repairs and towing costs that are incurred because of driving on unpermitted roads or in forbidden areas
- costs for vehicle keys that have either been lost or locked in the vehicle
- if people drive the car who have not been registered in the rental agreement
- personal property that is damaged in an accident or is either stolen or damaged during theft is not insured
- if damage is caused as a result of other people using the vehicle without the permission of the rental company
- vehicle theft, if vehicle has not been locked or keys have been left inside the vehicle
All credit card payments taken at the rental depots are made in Euro. The renter alone is liable for any credit card fees or fluctuations in foreign currency that occur while your deposit is held and cannot be claimed back from Celtic Campervans nor Motorhome Bookers.
The renter is liable for any fees, costs, fines or penalties that occur during his/her use of the rental vehicle unless any such costs that have taken place are the fault of the rental company.
If speeding tickets and parking fines and/or accidents, etc (e.g. that have not been mentioned to the rental company) come to light the rental company reserves the right to invoice or charge the customer for these costs in arrears as well as a processing fee.
The insurance options offered by the rental company do not include luggage insurance, nor do they include coverage for any injuries to passengers. It is therefore recommended to obtain travel insurance prior to your departure that covers accidents, sickness and loss of luggage.
All drivers must have held their license for a minimum of 5 years on the day of pick-up. UK and European Licenses (Category B) and other standard national driving licenses are valid as long as the details on the license are provided in English. Otherwise, an international license is recommended.
The minimum age for registered drivers is 25 years, and they must have held their license for at least 5 years. The maximum driving age is 70 years. Anyone older may not be permitted to drive the vehicles.
Only one additional driver can be registered locally. More additional drivers are not permitted. The cost for adding the additional driver to the insurance policy is € 12 per day. Any person wishing to drive must have all of his/her details entered in the rental agreement. The renter is required to have access to the name and address details for any person who drives the vehicle - even if they drive for a short amount of time, and to provide these details to the rental company upon request. The renter is responsible for the actions of all registered drivers.
Before you can collect your vehicle you are required to present a valid driving license, credit card (Visa or Mastercard), your passport and the Motorhome Bookers voucher at the depot.
The minimum hire period is 7 days.
Please note carefully the maximum number of passengers allowed per vehicle as per the details provided when you click on the picture of your vehicle and view the vehicle specifications during an online quote or in the Celtic Campervans section on our website.
All vehicle equipment is included in the rental rates. This includes:
General vehicle equipment:
Fresh water hose, waste water hose, electricity connection, wash basin, bucket, pan & brush, safety equipment as required for the vehicle concerned such as jack, spare tyre, hazard warning triangle and instruction manual.
Kitchen equipment for 4-6 people (depending on vehicle size):
tea towels, cutlery, cooking utensils, various plates, glasses, cups, bowls, cutting board, tin opener, corkscrew, serving spoons, pots, pans, pearing knives, cutting board, kettle, tea pot, salad bowl, whisk.
The 'extras' listed below as well as baby/booster seats should be booked in advance with the vehicle wherever possible. Payment for these items is made locally when you pick up the vehicle.
- Bedding and Towel pack: € 30 per person (includes: cotton lined sleeping bag, pillow, large and small towel). Please note that Celtic Campervans do not provide bed linen or blankets.
This can also be rented at pick-up time. However, you then run the risk that the item you want is not available. All items remain the property of Celtic Campervans and must be returned with the vehicle when you drop it off.
Baby and Booster Seats can be booked at no charge. Please reserve these in advance to ensure that a suitable seat is available for your child.
If you wish to reserve any seats, please provide the age and weight of the child(ren) with your booking.
NOTE: It is compulsory for children to use a child or booster seat and to wear a seatbelt in Ireland and Northern Ireland. All children up to the 11 (inclusive) & under a maximum height of 135 cm must use a child seat by law.
We strongly recommend that you reserve one of these seats well in advance if required to ensure availability for your hire. Celtic Campervans and Motorhome Bookers cannot be held responsible if the appropriate child seat is not available because it has not been pre-booked such that the children can only travel illegally or not at all.
The vehicles are only permitted for use on sealed, public and authorised roads within Ireland, with the exception of Connor Pass.
If you drive on any unsealed or unauthorised roads or to forbidden areas such as Connor Pass, County Kerry, you do so at your own risk. You are liable for any costs incurred such as damage, vehicle retrieval or towing resulting from a breakdown or accident and no insurance cover is provided here. The vehicle is not allowed to come in contact with saltwater.
Please note that if you are planning to travel outside of the island of Ireland, you are required to purchase additional insurance for the UK and Europe. The insurance supplement costs € 17 per day and driver and can be purchased at pick-up of the vehicle.
Note: Please take the time to obtain information from the authorities responsible for the country in which you plan to drive, or from an automobile association with regard to special rules that may apply in that country.
Please refer to 'Rental Depots' in the Celtic Campervans section of our website for the exact address.
The rental depot is open as follows:
Monday to Saturday from 0900 - 1700hrs
The depot is closed on Sundays. The depot is also closed between 16 Dec 16 and 02 Jan 17 and between 18 Dec 17 and 02 Jan 18.
You can pick up a rental vehicle on the booked date, Mondays to Saturdays between 1500hrs and 1700hrs. On request you can pick up from 1700hrs to 1900hrs.
If you do not pick up your motorhome before the rental depot's closing time and you do not inform the rental company well in advance of your arrival time the rental company reserves the right to postpone the pick-up until the next day (with regard to Saturday pick-ups the pick-up date would be delayed until Monday). No financial compensation nor refunds are provided in such situations.
Clients who wish to collect their vehicle before 1500hrs (no earlier than 1000hrs) need to request this at time of booking and will be charged an extra rental day.
The vehicle is provided full of fuel and with the gas bottles are full.
You are required to allow the experts at the pick-up depot to provide you with a detailed vehicle briefing. Celtic Campervans reserves the right to withhold the handover of a rental vehicle until this has taken place and does not take responsibility and will not provide compensation for any delays that may be incurred as a result.
You can drop off your rental vehicle between Monday and Saturday in the morning between 0900hrs and 1000hrs at the booked depot. On request you can pick up from 0800hrs.
Suggestion: if your return flight is at midday or earlier we recommend that you drop off your motorhome at the depot on the day before your flight and spend the night in a hotel.
There are no refunds if you return the vehicle earlier than the drop-off date booked. Late drop-offs will not be allowed on the basis of any delays that may have occurred at pick-up. If the vehicle is not returned at the depot by 1000hrs, Celtic Campervans will charge you an extra rental day. In addition, the rental company reserves the right to charge the customer for any revenue lost as a result of a vehicle being returned late where other rentals are then delayed or missed. It is not permitted to unilaterally alter the rental agreement to one with an open-ended drop-off date beyond the date agreed with the booking.
If the vehicle is returned in a damaged state the rental company will charge the appropriate fees. The motorhome must be returned with a clean interior and the toilets and waste water tank need to be emptied before drop-off and the fuel tank must be full, otherwise a fee of up to € 200 will apply. The LP Gas bottle does not have to be returned full.
Celtic Campervans provides a free transfer from Dublin Airport to their depot and vice versa.
This is provided on the condition that you provide them (preferably when you make the booking) with your flight arrival and departure times well in advance. Otherwise, the transfers will be cancelled (not postponed) without refund. Please therefore provide these details as soon as possible to Motorhome Bookers so that we can pass them on to Celtic Campervans for you.
If this is not possible you need to contact the depot in Ireland to arrange this preferably on the day before you pick up.
All transfers take place between Dublin Airport and the rental depot, but not from hotels or downtown. If you have booked a hotel for the night before or after your rental you will need to cover any transfer costs between the depot and your hotel yourself. The rental company does not provide any 'payments in lieu' of unused airport transfers.
You are requested to be flexible and to accept the pick-up and drop-off time suggested by Celtic Campervans which they will set in order to fit in with the needs of all their customers as best they can. If you are not in agreement with the transfer time Celtic Campervans provides to you and do not take advantage of their transfer(s) they will not provide any refund for unused transfers.
You can chosse between brandnew vehicles (model year 2017) and older motorhomes (more than 5 years), which are offerd for a lower daily rate.
Celtic Campervans will make every effort to ensure that the booked vehicle model and vehicle lay-out is provided. However, it reserves the right, if due to unforeseen circumstances it has to provide a different or larger vehicle if the model booked is not available or has been damaged by a previous renter. No additional rental costs will be charged if this happens. If Celtic Campervans is forced to provide you with a smaller vehicle than the one you have booked they will reimburse the difference. Any additional costs such as higher petrol costs, tolls or ferry costs, etc will not be reimbursed and need to be paid by the renter. This does not give the renter the right to cancel his/her booking.
Note: You will be guaranteed a vehicle from a certain category but not of any specific size, make, colour or design. Even though vehicles within a category have similar equipment, the design, size, measurements and floor plan (e.g. bed sizes or interior features, etc) may differ slightly within one vehicle category.
All measurements and size indications are approximate values and are based on the information provided to us by the rental company. We cannot accept responsibility for any mistakes or human error in the provision of these details. This kind of information on our website can be changed at any time without prior notice.
In the event of an accident, breakdown or technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately. If you have a problem outside of the Celtic Campervans opening hours just call the service number which they will give to you at pick-up.
If you have an accident, there is a fire or theft or you hit a wild animal, etc the police and Celtic Campervans need to be contacted immediately. Third party demands are not to be agreed to.
In an accident the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses along with the vehicle registration details of any vehicles involved. Even in the case of minor damage the renter is required to provide Celtic Campervans with a detailed written report and a sketch outlining the situation.
Note: If you do not inform the rental company and police immediately and if the company is not given the opportunity to provide assistance there will be no grounds for compensation.
The motorhome must be returned with a clean interior and the toilets and waste water tank need to be emptied before drop-off and the fuel tank must be full, otherwise a fee of up to € 200 will apply. The LP Gas bottle does not have to be returned full.
Pets or other animals are not permitted inside the rental vehicles.
Smoking is also not permitted in the vehicles.
If you plan to take your motorhome on a ferry we strongly suggest that you book this well in advance. We recommend that you book a space on the ferry for a vehicle of at least one size larger than the booked vehicle, just in case you are upgraded to a larger vehicle at the depot.
All information provided has been put together by us (Motorhome Bookers Ltd) in as much detail as possible and on the basis of the information made available to us. This information has been taken from the rental company's conditions which they have provided to us. Any additional conditions are included in the rental agreement which is entered into by yourself and the rental company. You will receive the complete list of rental conditions with your rental agreement, which you sign when you collect your vehicle. We do not accept responsibility for any differences that come to light between our list of conditions and those of the rental company.
